A Living Room For The Community

We love our city and want to make a difference. As a church we run a number of different initiatives that are having a positive impact on our city and it's residents.

We have a passion to reach out and support those who are marginalised in our community. We run Jubilee Life College which provides daytime activities for adults and aim to help individuals make a positive impact on society through gaining skills and opportunities to gain qualifications.

One of the biggest communities who experience this marginalisation is our homeless community. For a number of years we have been working with individuals in our city, we provide laundry and shower facilities for those sleeping on the streets as we aim to make Jubilee a welcome place for all.

We are also the Hull office for Big Issue in the North distributing the weekly Big Issue magazine to vendors and supporting them as they work and also have Hull Foodbank based in our building.

Our building, Jubilee Central is an amazing resource in the city of Hull which as well as being the home to many of our projects, also is a space for the wider community. We host many different community groups, business meetings and concerts/performances. For more details about our venue, click here.

Our Impact

To understand our impact we have used software called 'Loop' to assess our social value as an organisation.

Social value is the measure of how much value an organisation brings to society – including its social, economic, and environmental benefits. This is something that public authorities have had to consider since the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 and is very helpful to assess the impact we are having.

During 2023/2024, our Life College programme and our homeless support generated a social value of over £1.2 million with an average return on investment of £26 to the £1.

This means that for every £1 that is given towards our work, we are making a saving of £26 in social value. This includes savings on healthcare costs including GP appointments by improving mental health and reducing loneliness and savings on benefits accessed by helping people gain skills and reducing unemployment.
